The annual youth arts publication of the
National Youth Arts Programme

The National Youth Arts Programme is an initiative of the National Youth Council of Ireland, supported by the Arts Council and the Department of Education and Science (Youth Affairs Section). The Programme is dedicated to the development and advancement of youth arts in Ireland. It aims specifically to realise the potential of young people through good quality arts practice within youth organisations and to develop appropriate policies and activities at local, regional and national level.

Targeted at both the Youth and the Arts sectors, In2 is a resource for anyone interested in developing the arts in youth work. It includes information on opportunities and resources, articles on exemplary youth arts practice in Ireland and abroad, and analysis of policy in the area of youth arts.

The National Youth Arts Programme (NYAP) will form an editorial panel to guest edit a special supplement in the 2006 edition of IN2, which will be published in October 2006. We would like to hear from groups comprising up to 5 young people between the ages of 14 21, with at least one adult leader over 21, who are interested in taking on this challenge.

The editorial panel will be responsible for guest editing a supplement consisting of 10 pages to be filled with articles and images relating to art by, for and with young people. You will decide on a theme for this supplement, write or get other people to write the articles, find the photographs or other images to illustrate the articles, then meet with the designer of In2 to decide how your supplement will look when printed. The NYAP will work closely with you throughout this process, to help make your supplement the best it can be.

This is an excellent opportunity for young people to experience how a magazine is produced and will provide outlets for those interested in writing, illustrating, taking photographs, organising, editing, designing and getting out and about to find good stories.
