1) The TRED Equal Dissemination Conference "Opportunities for Change - Profiting from Diversity" is being held this Thursday, 6th October in the Citywest Hotel, Saggart, Co. Dublin. Admission of free but you should register with us if you wish to attend. You should have already received the brochure. Further information is on the TRED website at www.tred.ie under News and Events.

2) The 7th edition of the National Training and Continuing Education Directory is now available and will be officially launched following the conference on Thursday by Mr. Tony Killeen, TD, Minister for Labour Affairs.

3) The American Society of Training & Development is seeking to establish a global network of members in Ireland. The workshop and the launch event outlined below may be of interest to many of our members.If you would like to attend, please confirm to Ms Erum Kahn on ekhan@astd.org

Please join us for two meetings in Dublin: a Workshop on October 4th and the Global Network Launch on October 5th!

Workshop on October 4th:

Agenda: This meeting is intended for those who are interested in being part of the foundation (core) of the Global Network in Ireland. We will work together to formulate the Mission & Vision Statements - to ensure that ASTD Global Network Ireland will serve the best interest of local HRD & Training Professionals. We will also, potentially, formulate a Steering Committee and construct a timeline for Global Network events and activities.

Time: 6:30 P.M. - 9:30 P.M.

1. ASTD Presentation - Explaining history, benefits, purpose and mission statement.
2. Introduction to Global Network concept.
3. Review of the Survey Results - to match ASTD products and services to the needs of our members & customers in Ireland.
4. ASTD Global Network Launch and signing of the Agreement!!
5. Time for comments and questions
6. Closing Remarks
