FETAC website FETAC has revamped its website www.fetac.ie This means that some things that you are used to finding are not where they were previously. See below for instructions to finding popular items on the new site which relate to certification: 1. Award Specifications
(Module Descriptors) You can enter the Award code or Award Title in the Search box on the top right hand corner of the home page. You should be able to find what you are looking for in the Search Results i.e. a link to the web page about the award (certificate or component) in question.
Alternatively you can browse through the Award Directory, which has all FETAC awards (including those formerly offered by FAS, Failte Ireland and Teagasc) in lists, classified by Field, Sub-Field and Domain of Learning. To find the directory use the following:
If you dont want to browse the directory and you know the relevant award code then you can enter the code in Quick Search Award Code box e.g. B20001, and click on Go Either route (Search or Browse), will lead you to a webpage on the award which gives the basic details of that award i.e. its code, type, level, field, sub field, domain etc. . The Award Specification (aka module descriptor) will be available at the bottom of this page via a link which states the language it is written in. At the moment, English is the only language available but it is hoped that in time, the award specifications will be available in other languages also. So if you are on the relevant web page for the component of interest and you want to open the descriptor English link
Note that there are some awards with codes which will be unfamiliar to you and for which an award specification is not available. These are awards of the former awarding bodies FAS, Failte Ireland and Teagasc, which are only available following programmes offered by those providers. These awards are being migrated to the Common Awards System and will become available to other providers in time.
2. Certification Resources i.e. Key dates, Authenticator List, Schedule of Fees, Record of Awards form, Step by Step Guide to using the Online System To access these materials use the following steps:
