1) Trainers Network National Conference - 19th May 2005 - Thursday
This conference will be held in the City West Hotel, Saggart, Co. Dublin. The theme for this conference will be

"Expand Your Knowledge Through Networking"
Increase your competencies in quality training and improved business performance

At this conference you will hear about TTnet, a network of national networks which was set up by Cedefop in 1998 as a Pan-European forum to allow key players and decision-makers in the field of teacher training to share practices, knowledge and expertise on key issues in the training and professional development of vocational teachers and trainers. International and National Speakers will provide valuable information on European Networks and how we can add value to our networking in the Trainers Network.

The Trainers Network is the representative organisation of TTnet in Ireland. We would suggest that you check out the CEDEFOP website at www.cedefop.eu.int which has a huge resource of reports and documentation about training throughout Europe. Information on the TTnet can be found there together with details of the Electronic Training Village (ETV). You can easily register for this site which will allow you access to special interest groups whose members are from all EU countries.

2) TRED Equal / Trainers Network Conference - 6th October 2005 - Thursday. This conference will be held in the City West Hotel, Saggart, Co. Dublin. The theme for this conference will be

"Opportunities for Change - Working with Diversity"

The TRED Equal Project, managed by the Trainers Network, is tackling discrimination in the workplace through the provision of a national resource of expertise in skill, knowledge and competence in Equality and Diversity. This conference will share the experience of national and international companies on key themes and issues e.g. Changing nature of work; Communication; Awareness and Access; Policy and Practice; Learning and Guidance.

Conference brochures, providing details of these conferences will be circulated prior to the conference - register as early as possible.

3) In December last year, the TRED project launched a booklet entitled "Managing Equality and Diversity in the Workplace- An Employers Guide to Resources". A booklet was sent out to all Trainers Network members. If you wish to obtain more copies, please contact the office at 01-4622281 or email trainersnetwork@calmar.ie with your order - there is no charge for the booklets and all the resources listed in the booklet are also free of charge from the respective organisations.

4) The new Trainers Network website is currently being updated and should be ready to replace the old site next month. We would welcome any suggestions you may have as to possible content for the new site. Please email any suggestions to Ken Page on ken@calmar.ie .

5) Brochures for the Trainers Network National Conference will be circulated in late March and we would encourage as many members and non-members to attend.
