What were saying on the 17th October is that the fight against poverty is a fight for human rights. People who struggle against poverty are the first defenders of human rights. Its a day when you know you are not on your own, when you see people there standing alongside you, standing together worldwide. As I see it, its not a one-day thing. It is a symbol, and a reminder of what we want to achieve throughout the year. The United Nations World Poverty Day is marked around the world. For the past four years, commemorations have taken place in Dublin at the Famine Memorial on Custom House Quay, and in a number of towns around the country. This year, initiatives are also being planned or supported by the Community Platform, the European Anti-Poverty Network, the Children's Rights Alliance and the Combat Poverty Agency as well as by local communities and groups around the country. All initiatives to mark this UN Day on or around the 17th are welcome community centres or family resource centres schools workplaces churches 17th October resource packs (see below) have been prepared to encourage people and groups through out the country to mark the day in their chose way, with or in solidarity with the people in Ireland and in the world who live in poverty. It is the people themselves, in their daily struggles to survive, to support one another and to be part of the community, whom we honour on the 17th October. We also honour the collective struggles in which people experiencing poverty come together with their neighbours, friends and their community and with other people who are in solidarity and support with them, to try and change the situation. The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty has its origins on the Plaza of Human Rights and Citizenship in Paris where the Universal Declaration of Human rights was signed in 1948 and where a commemorative stone was laid in 1987 bearing the message of Joseph Wresinski, founder of the International Movement ATD Fourth World: Wherever men and women are condemned to live in poverty, human rights are violated. It is our solemn duty to come together to ensure that these rights are respected. Since being officially proclaimed International Day for the Eradication of Poverty by the United Nations in 1992, commemorations on the 17th October take place in Paris, at the UN Headquarters in New York, at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and elsewhere in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Indian Ocean region. In May 2002, Pat Cox, President of the European Parliament, unveiled a 17th October commemorative stone at the new European Parliament building in Brussels. 5STV\^jkm_`abc\]^aŷвypyyf_ CJOJQJ5CJOJQJ\5H*OJQJ\5OJQJ\56OJQJ\6CJOJQJ\6CJOJQJ\CJOJQJ\ B*ph3f B* H*ph B* ph56B* CJ$OJQJphB* CJ$OJQJphB* CJOJQJph$56B* CJ<H*OJQJ\]ph!56B* CJ<OJQJ\]ph"5TUVkl;a}sss V]^V8 G3$d %d &d 'd -DM NOPQ]G^3 $V]^Va$;$ G3$d %d &d 'd -DM NOPQ]G^3a$ ab^_`a45Y,$d%d&d'd-DM N3fO3fP3fQ3f,$d%d&d'd-DM N3fO3fP3fQ3f7$V$d%d&d'd-DM N3fO3fP3fQ3f]^Va$ V]^V $V]^Va$ aJ3456mo}~ D e g |wpwcYRJCJH*OJQJ CJOJQJ5CJOJQJ\CJOJQJaJmH sH B* H*ph B* ph56>*CJOJQJ5CJH*OJQJ5CJOJQJ5B* CJH*OJQJph5B* CJOJQJphCJH*OJQJ\CJOJQJ\ CJOJQJCJH*OJQJ CJOJQJ B*ph B*CJph5CJOJQJCJOJQJaJ CJOJQJ56}~ D E $a$ $V]^Va$,$d %d &d 'd -DM NOPQ $V]^Va$ V]^V $V]^Va$ & F /18:ν5B* CJOJQJ\aJphCJH*OJQJaJCJOJQJaJCJOJQJaJ B*ph B*ph3f!B*CJOJQJaJmH ph3fsH CJOJQJaJmH sH 5>*B* CJOJQJ\ph5B* CJOJQJ\ph CJOJQJ V W f $a$,$d %d &d 'd -DM NOPQ $V]^Va$^"6Qx$a$4-$d %d &d 'd -DM NOPQ]-^7$-$d %d &d 'd -DM NOPQ]-^a$ /R / =!Q"Q#5$n% i0@0 Normal_HmH sH tH H@H Heading 1$$7$8$@&a$CJ$aJ$mH sH H@H Heading 2$$1$@&a$56CJ OJQJZZ Heading 3$$V@&]^Va$B* CJ OJQJ\phR@R Heading 4$$@&a$5B* CJ$OJQJ\aJ$phZ@Z Heading 5$$V@&]^Va$5B* CJ OJQJph`@` Heading 6$$V@&]^Va$56B* CJ(OJQJ]ph<A@< Default Paragraph Font6B@6 Body TextCJmH sH uFQ@F Body Text 3 $1$a$56CJOJQJfT@f Block Text3$V$d%d&d'd1$]^Va$ CJOJQJ@P@"@ Body Text 2$a$CJOJQJaJ(5TUVkl;ab^_`a456}~DE VWf " 6 Q x 000000X00X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X000X0H0H000 0 0 0 0000000800000000000800000000000000000a a5 _Hlt83532910 _Hlt83532911 _Hlt83532917 _Hlt81725356 _Hlt81725357 _Hlt82507300 _Hlt82507301pp@@@@@@@qq58~" $ 6 ; x z 33333333LMPCUserLC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17 national notice - 2004.docPCUserNC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th national notice - 2004.docPCUserNC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th national notice - 2004.docPCUserNC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th national notice - 2004.docPCUserNC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th national notice - 2004.docPCUserNC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th national notice - 2004.docPCUserNC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th national notice - 2004.docPCUserNC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th national notice - 2004.docPCUserRC:\My Documents\17th October files\17 Oct 2004\17th Oct national notice - 2004.docdefault.C:\web3\STTC\welcome\17thOctnationalnotice.doc$v#2 =_."Iv,S4^D2CV48Xe288^8`OJPJQJ^Jo(- ^`OJQJo(o ^ `OJQJo( ^ `OJQJo( xx^x`OJQJo(o HH^H`OJQJo( ^`OJQJo( ^`OJQJo(o ^`OJQJo(^`OJPJQJ^Jo( ^`OJQJo(o ^^^^`OJQJo( ..^.`OJQJo( ^ `OJQJo(o ^ `OJQJo( ^`OJQJo( nn^n`OJQJo(o >>^>`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh pp^p`OJQJo(h @ @ ^@ `OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh PP^P`OJQJo(^`OJPJQJ^Jo( ^`OJQJo(o ^^^^`OJQJo( ..^.`OJQJo( ^ `OJQJo(o ^ `OJQJo( ^`OJQJo( nn^n`OJQJo(o >>^>`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh pp^p`OJQJo(h @ @ ^@ `OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh PP^P`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh pp^p`OJQJo(h @ @ ^@ `OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(h ^`OJQJo(oh PP^P`OJQJo(v,S$v#2CV=_.8Xe; XD @ dP@UnknownG:Times New Roman5Symbol3& :ArialCFComic Sans MS?5 :Courier New;Wingdings"h‰‰j&?
