Staff The manager is Tom Noone, with responsibility for the overall running of the Centre under the direction of the Board of Management. Ann Ryan is responsible for office administration, salaries, trainee allowances etc. Austin Dunne is the metalwork instructor and is full-time, as is Gerard Sheridan, who looks after the woodwork area. Bernie Ryan is a full-time VEC teacher and has responsibility for literacy/nurneracy. Katherine Kinane is also full-time and is responsible for crafts, including sewing, upholstery, soft toys, etc. Maureen Ryan is a part-time catering instructor and also supervises the provision of a cooked lunch each day. Marion O'Dwyer is part-time in hairdressing, and Cathriona Dwan is part-time art teacher. All of the staff are fully qualified in their respective disciplines. In addition to the above, the Centre also offers a counselling and guidance service on a group basis and also on a one-to-one basis. This is run in conjunction with the VEC and with the other workshops in North Tipperary. The Centre also operates an Advocate Service for progression trainees and for those on work experience programmes. The Centre is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Trainees are given the current training allowances applicable to FAS, ranging from €43.40 per week for a 15 year old to €118.50 per week for an 18 year old. They also receive appropriate travel and meal allowances. |
