  • "Pavee Pathways – good practice guidelines for drug & alcohol services working with Travellers" was published recently. These guidelines were developed following a year-long piece of research carried out with 30 drug misusing Travellers from across Ireland to see what works for them when engaging in support services.   • NALA have launched a new website www.takethefirststep.ie that allows people to see that improving their literacy is not going to be the daunting challenge that they thought it might be, and, share the idea with their friends and family on email and facebook.

  • JobBridge is a new National Internship Scheme that will provide work experience placements for interns for a 6 or 9 month period.The aim of this scheme is to assist in breaking the cycle where jobseekers are unable to get a job without experience. Visit www.jobbridge.ie for more information.

Minister Quinn published a discussion document on admissions policy aimed at leading to changes in regulations and legislation on how primary and post primary schools allocate places to students.
