COURSES AND CURRICULUM PROGRAM OFFERED

The core areas of education and training are literacy, maths, computers, home economics, crafts and woodwork. Other subjects taught include hairdressing, metalwork, CSPE, art, sports, business studies, preparation for work, sewing and faith development. Social, personal and health education programmes are also on offer. Patricia Ryan, advocate for FAS works with our students in developing progression routes. Our students participate in FETAC and Junior Cert exams.

  • Decorating field for Clare Community Games
  • Aer-Rianta/R.R.D., Shannon Airport, Sharing Our Future (2nd place in Community Section)
  • Clare Women's Network
  • Ennis Information Age Town Committee for disadvantaged
  • Clare County Council advisory Committee on accommodation
  • Annual Craft Fair
  • Clare Traveller's Health Group
  • Mid-Western Health Board Traveller Health Group
  • Job Initiative Scheme Consortium
  • Ennis Sport and Leisure Project
  • Developed close links with Adult Education Centre, Clare Reading & Writing Scheme, Clare Unemployment Resource Centre, Clare Youth Services, Ennis West Partners, Clarecare, Pre-school, Brothers of Charity, Dulick Enterprise Centre, etc.
  • Irish Traveller Movement & Federation of Irish Travellers
  • National Traveller Women's Forum
  • Taking various field trips throughout Ireland
  • In 1998 15 persons from St. Joseph's Training Centre went on pilgrimage to Medugorje.
