BUILDING BLITZ IN SOUTH AFRICA The National Association of Travellers Centres has managed to secure
four volunteer places with the Niall Mellon Township Trust for their building
blitz taking place in March 2009. Working as part of a large team of volunteers,
you will not only be building houses, but bright futures for families
in Cape Town's largest township, Khayelitsha. This one-week volunteer
blitz will take place from 20th to 28th March (subject to flight availability). The Niall Mellon Township Trust was established in 2002 to provide homes to impoverished communities in the townships of South Africa. Their vision is a world in which every person lives in a home which enables them to develop to their fullest potential. With a South African workforce of close to 2000 people, the trust is helping to change the landscape of South African townships, building quality houses and sustainable communities. This year alone they hope to build 7000 houses in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Please send your Expression of Interest to NATC by post or email and include the following information: - Name & contact details of individual nominated and their supporting
