The Great Pope John Paul II

 

Each night as I lay in bed, I bless my face when my prayers are said,

I thank one person, who’s well known to you all,

he is the great Pope John Paul II.

A man well known who we never met,

his face we will never ever forget.

He taught us right and never wrong,

in our loving hearts he will always belong.

He visited the sick and the poor,

in his loving heart they were always secure.

He visited the world both far and near,

everyone loved him so very dear.

He visited Ireland in 79

and almost everyone saw him at the time.

They went to see the man they love,

but now he’s gone to God above.

He died in April of this year.

I think we all could shed a tear for a man

Who loved us all so very dear

He lived within the Vatican,

he was a loving religious man each thing

He said he always meant,

I am sure he will be a loving saint!
