Trips from Centre
On the 20th June 2005 the group traveled to Our Lady's Holy
Well in Athenry where a mass was celebrated by Fr. John O'Gorman. Afterwards
the students visited the Heritage Centre where they saw an archery demonstration
and then they strolled around the town.
On Thursday 24th of October, we visited the Linen Hall
Art Gallery in Castlebar. There was an exhibition from Mayo Artists.
It was a nice place and the whole group enjoyed the experience.
On 31st of October, 2002. Two people were chosen from the centre to
visit the president in Dublin. They went to Aras an Uachartaran and
attended a beautiful reception.
The group traveled to Collins Barracks in Dublin on the 5th of June.
It is a wonderfully preserved building which contains thousands of artifacts
from all over the country some dating back to the 900’s. These artifacts
include silver wear, glass, weapons, furniture, coins, folklore and
clothing. Everyone managed to find at least one object or area they
enjoyed.
